April 2012 Changes in Compass Leadership
First of all, we want to thank Noah Earle for 5 years of service! Noah is a founding board member of Compass and served for 5 years, first as member of the original steering committee, then as Vice-Chair of the Board until April 6, 2012. Vicki Leighty, Compass founder, founding board member and Chair of the Board until April 5, 2012 has also vacated her position. Both members will be missed on the board, but will continue to remain involved in Compass.
Vicki will stay on as a Compass volunteer and will continue to facilitate the Compass Mid-MO Songwriting Circle, associated showcases and other networking and promotional events related to that group.
Look for updates in the next few weeks as new board members are elected we will share that news with you here. We also will have some exciting new program information posted soon — so stay tuned!

MISSION STATEMENT
Compass, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization based in Columbia, MO whose mission is to provide aspiring musicians, singers and songwriters with education, promotion, networking and showcasing opportunities.
HISTORY OF COMPASS
The idea for Compass, Inc. was born when founder, Vicki Leighty brought together a diverse group of musicians, singers and songwriters in Columbia, Missouri in October 2007 to envision a nonprofit organization to expand the array of educational opportunities available for aspiring musicians, singers and songwriters in mid-Missouri.
The initial Steering Committee that established Compass, Inc. included: Vicki Leighty, Phylshawn Johnson, Noah Earle, Stephen Gardner, Mike Hagan, Sam D’Agostino, Zach Beeson, Loyd Warden and Adam Roehlke.
Compass, Inc. was incorporated as a nonprofit corporation in the state of Missouri, and also approved by the IRS as a federal 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization, effective April 15, 2008.
