THE MUSIC IS FOR EVERYONE BENEFIT GALA

The Blue Note and Compass Inc. present the Music is for Everyone Benefit Gala on June 1st in celebration and benefit of Compass Inc. and the Music is for Everyone Scholarship Fund. The mission of Compass is to provide aspiring musicians, singers, and songwriters with educational, promotional, networking, and showcasing opportunities to help them reach their full musical and artistic potential. Compass Inc. opened its doors to the Compass Music Center on June 3, 2022, and has since become a musical home to hundreds of community members through its various programming, such as the IGRB Choir, Compass Music Camp, its private music lesson program and more.

That’s What We’ll Be, the second full-length album from The January Lanterns, is a heartfelt exploration of personal growth, vulnerability, and the power of embracing the unknown. Written during a time of profound change for the band, the album invites listeners into a space where uncertainty becomes freedom, and transformation is celebrated. With raw lyricism and dynamic soundscapes, That’s What We’ll Be is a journey through the beauty of change—both for the band and for anyone willing to lean into life’s mysteries. It’s a powerful, honest statement of who they are now and what they’re becoming.
“She dresses her insightful poetry in a folk indie pop vibe, blessed by her instincually smoky smooth voice and candid cool delivery. She finds the middle ground between Sharoon Van Etten, Kathleen Edwards, and Norah Jones. Like them, she’s a musical chameleon with room to roam.” -The Wild is Calling
The Compass Listening Room Concert Series is an intimate music event hosted within the Compass Music Center, featuring primarily touring singer-songwriters and acoustic folk artists. The Listening Room is a substance free venue that provides an ideal setting for musicians to showcase their talents and connect with an appreciative audience. With a focus on creating an intimate experience, the concert series invites performers to share their heartfelt music, allowing for genuine connections between the artists and listeners who have a deep passion for music.

MUSIC IS FOR EVERYONE FUND
The Music is for Everyone Scholarship Fund is an initiative that is made possible through the kindness of our community and the generous support of grants. This fund provides aspiring musicians and songwriters with the opportunity to realize their full artistic potential by providing scholarships and financial assistance to those who are unable to cover the registration fees. Through this fund, we strive to eliminate financial barriers and promote equal access to music education for all.
